1. About Public Map Platform

Public Map Platform is a research project exploring how community-led mapping can support green transition planning. Funded by the AHRC and led by Cambridge, Cardiff, Bangor, and Wrexham Universities, it focuses on the island of Ynys Môn and is part of the Future Observatory: Design the Green Transition programme.

2. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to data collected through the Website at publicmap.org. It does not apply to external websites linked from this platform.

3. What We Collect

3.1 Anonymous Analytics

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to better understand how people use the site. GoatCounter:

  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not collect personally identifying information

It collects aggregated, anonymous data including:

  • Pages visited
  • Referring page (if any)
  • Browser, operating system, and device type
  • Screen size and language
  • Timestamp and approximate location (based on anonymised IP)

3.2 Mailing List (Optional)

If you choose to sign up for our mailing list, we will collect your email address.

  • This will only be used to send occasional updates related to the project
  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email

We do not collect email addresses for user accounts, and no login is required to use the site.

We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics.
